The Currarong Community Association is gearing up for its Easter Art Show which was postponed last year due to COVID restrictions.
Tony Lund, president of the Currarong Community Association, said the arts committee has put a lot of effort into ensuring the COVID-safe community event can showcase more than 50 artists with a connection to the Shoalhaven and Currarong, but the recent vandal attack has been disheartening.
"It's very disappointing then to have two of our Art Show banners vandalised. One on the corner of Forest and Callala Beach Road and the other on the corner of Coonemia and Currarong Road," he said.
"It's very disheartening for our volunteers and the broader Currarong community. It also costs us several hundreds of dollars to have these banners made."
Titled Beecroft and Beyond, the show will open on Friday, April 2 and continue until Monday, April 5. The event will be held at Currarong Community hall and all are welcome. All artworks will be on sale.
This year's exhibiting artists include award winning Currarong resident artists Dr Kurt Brereton and Andre Bremer, landscape painter Peter Zanetti and contemporary painter Robyn Gibson plus many more.
"Our community and visitors are very much looking forward to this, particularly as there has been very few events over the past year. This also generates interest and business for the community in what is one of the busiest weekends," Tony said.
