After 270 "On The Beat" episodes you would think (some would hope) that I have run out of topics to discuss from the wide world of crime prevention, however this is not the case.

Picture this - while undertaking my usual commute to work, I was about 100 metres from an intersection controlled by a set of traffic lights.
As I drove towards the intersection, I could see that I would be facing a red light.
Suddenly, a vehicle raced past me at almost the speed of light, shot back into my lane and headed towards the intersection.
My first thought was that the vehicle that raced past must have been driven by a large Moth-man who was strangely attracted by the red lights of the traffic signals.
But alas, it was not a Moth-man. It was just an impatient and inconsiderate driver who for reasons unknown wanted to get to the intersection before me.
I pulled in behind him a short time later and we both sat and waited for the lights to change.
I remember thinking, "What was the point of all that"?
We have all seen the results of impatient driving. Impatient and inconsiderate driving can severely injure and in a worst case scenario, kill.
If you are an impatient and/or inconsiderate driver spare a thought for other road users and after you have done that, stop being inconsiderate, slow down, relax and we will all get to our destination intact.
