Nowra bypass desperately needed
Since the first talks of the bridge duplication, voices calling for Nowra bypass have grown louder and more frequent. With work now underway causing huge traffic congestion, frustration is enormous. This won't be any less on completion of the project, because weekend and holiday traffic will still block our roads until a bypass is constructed. Even if announced, it would be years until completed, yet it's desperately needed now. Get on with it.

Why cant they get it right?
1. Overpass out of Jervis Bay Road ruined with two roundabouts included
2: North Nowra forgotten in current road and bridge works.
3: Yes, the Nowra bypass should be done as a matter of urgency.

Why not fund both projects?
It is always sad that government funding is set as competitive between options and communities. Why not both such essential road upgrades?
For the past year, we have been very regular travellers on the highway to Queensland. Recently it has been a weekly trek.
With some hesitation, we would surmise that the Coffs Harbour situation is worse at all times.
But nothing compares to Nowra at certain peak times.
Certainly a difficult choice. Fulton Hogan do such amazing work they deserve further opportunities to bring in road systems under time and under budget.
Our road systems throughout Australia are poor and requiring improvements. Alternative transport options are in a similar state.
It would be so valuable to discuss these issues in the post-COVID debates on Australia's path forward.

We should be top of the list
Anyone who lives in Nowra or visits the region knows how terribly slow and frustrating it is to travel along the Princes Highway from Bomaderry to the outer reaches of South Nowra.
The recent highway upgrades have only served to highlight this issue.
Both residents and visitors urgently need a bypass to ease the daily congestion in this region and we need a sustained push from our elected local government representatives to make sure our region is top of the list for this to happen.

Too few dog options available
I am very happy to be able to exercise my dogs on the local beach. Unfortunately there are too few options in the local area. It is most important that owners pick up after their dogs and monitor their behaviour.
When there are too few options this concentrates the dogs in the available areas.

More dog-friendly zones needed
I am a resident of Currarong and we have very little area where we can take our dogs off leash. We constantly have the ranger handing out fines. We need many more dog friendly zones in the Shoalhaven.
A. Freshwater, Currarong
Balance is sadly lacking.
Fed up with the contradictory Shoalhaven Council policy of sending rangers to persecute local, responsible dog owners at 7 and 8am then failing to show up for the visitors who believe their holiday means all responsibility ceases to exist. Balance is lacking.
G. Thornton, Currarong
Give us some grass
In Currarong the only off leash area is on the beach during certain hours so if you need to keep your dog dry it's impossible and due to erosion at high tide there isn't enough sand to work on anyway.
We really need a grassy park area.
