Courses will start on Monday February 8, so it's time to enrol to ensure you don't miss out.
U3A is a group of volunteers who want to provide activities to promote physical and mental health, encouraging seniors to get out and about.
So don't languish with COVID or any other excuses - come and meet new friends, learn new ideas, enjoy your retirements especially in this 'isolating' time.
During 2020 we had to hold courses via Zoom and virtually nothing could be done live due to COVID-19.
Now, in 2021, the committee has deemed it possible and preferable to hold live courses again.
We've prepared a COVID-plan, worked out how many people per course/venue are possible, and will enrol our keen members and new people, to those numbers.
If any course exceeds these numbers, we may be able to change to a larger venue - we'll see how we go.
What favourite old and some exciting new courses are being offered?
Old and familiar:
Mosaics, Book Club, Meditation, Music from the Movies, Let's do Lunch, Keep the Marbles Rolling, Ladies learn Golf, Italian, German and French courses at various levels, a visit to Merribee Gardens, Scottish country dancing, several History courses, Technology workshops and many more.
New and exciting
Time to Write (Jan Martin returns, very exciting, to lead this course). Ona Frazier, well-known Soprano with the Lydian Singers, will lead a small class who want to "Learn to Sing". Norm Potter wants to find (men only) who'd love to discuss TED talks on business, technology and design; and we have some fascinating courses like "Glass Paperweights", "Archaeology - Peopling the Pacific", or learn about "Catherine Helen Spence, the Grand Old Woman of Australia".
So many to choose from, so don't hesitate - come to learn, question, join in, make friends - escape from the isolation we've had last year - nothing to lose, plenty of fun to gain.
Enrolments are available online (go to www.shoalhaven.u3anet.org.au) - or just drop into the office at 5/48 Berry St Nowra any day from February 1 to 5 between 9.30am to 12.30om.
Once term has started (on 8th February) the office will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings only.
Call 4424 0216 for information, leave a message if necessary, we'd love to talk to you.
