In late 2020 Arts in the Valley announced that due to COVID-19 restrictions they were deferring the 2021 Kangaroo Valley Arts Festival including Sculpture in the Valley from May until September 2021, with dates still yet to be determined.
Until then Arts in the Valley are planning two lunchtime chamber music concerts at the Kangaroo Valley Hall on Sunday, February 7, Tafelmusik, and Sunday, March 7, Rustiques.
"It will be wonderful share music together again. We are delighted to invite these players to our region. Many artists have had performances cancelled over the past 12 months; we are pleased to provide them with an audience again," Natalie Harker, Arts in the Valley manager said.
These two concerts will be woodwind chamber concerts. The first Tafelmusik on February 7 is a virtuosic collection of Baroque chamber music for winds around the theme of Tafelmusik, a term used since the mid-16th century for light-hearted music played at feasts and banquets.
Telemann's Tafelmusik possess such varying styles and instrumental combinations that they are often likened to a cornucopia of culinary pleasures.
Sunday, March 7 will be a wealth and colourful variety of village life resounds in Rustiques, a collection of music rich in harmonic colouring and undulating rhythms.
The concerts will be organised in accordance with prevailing NSW Health COVID Safe regulations.
