The Berry Show Committee made the announcement late Tuesday, January 19 that the show will not go ahead on January 29-30.
It follows Kiama, Nowra, Kangaroo Valley and Milton Show in its decision.
After the recent clusters and community transmissions, the show had seen a drop in exhibitors across four of the six sections planned for the show.
A statement released by the Berry Show Committee started that coupled with COVID caution, daily uncertainty, and a lack of vaccine protection, it could not proceed with the show in 2021.
"Trying to plan an event like the show during the Coronavirus pandemic has been like trying to set up stock camp in a cyclone," the committee said.
Even with a robust COVID-safe plan, consultation with Shoalhaven Council, NSW Police and NSW Health, online ticketing, a cashless show, and a dedicated group of volunteers, the event proved too risky to run.
"We waited until as close to the show dates as possible to make a final decision to give ourselves every opportunity to try and run this agricultural, horticultural and community judging event," the committee said.
The committee thanked its volunteers, members, sponsors, exhibitors and patrons for their support and understanding over the past 12 months and is looking ahead to the future.
"We remain optimistic that we will get to invite you to our Berry Show in 2021, the greatest show in town," the committee said.
