The Illawara side, with Shoalhaven products Tara Rudd and Naomi Woods in their team, got off to a great start to defeat Riverina in their first match this week.
Greater then lost its second match of the T20 series, currently being played in and around the ACT this week, to ACT Southern.
The locals, against Riverina at Rockley Oval, lost the toss and were sent into bat.
Greater made 6/87 in its innings and in reply Riverina posted 9/78 to finish nine runs short of the mark.
Tara hit six runs for Greater Illawarra and Naomi made four runs.
Naomi took the new ball for Greater and produced a great spell of bowling.
Her three wickets, which only cost two runs, put Greater on track to victory.
Tara was also sharp with the ball.
Tara's four over stint got her and the Illawarra side two crucial wickets.
Greater's next match, against ACT Southern at Brad Haddin Oval, was a thriller.
The Shoalhaven/Illawarra based side won the toss and elected to bat.
Illawarra reached 7/81 after 20 overs and Southern got the winning runs in the last over with three balls to spare.
Tara looked good with the bat against Southern and her 14 runs included two boundaries.
Naomi once again took charge with ball in hand.
She collected two more wickets and once against made sure the opposition had trouble making runs.
Tara capped off her eye-catching effort by picking up two wickets.
The tournament continues and Illawarra plays Western today [Thursday].
