The work involves the placement of bridge girders across the Princes Highway to complete the new overpass at Strongs Road.
It will be the second overpass on the project to be constructed from Australian weathering steel girders that were fabricated in Newcastle using Port Kembla steel.
Kiama MP Gareth Ward said it adds aesthetic appeal and durability to the structure, as well as injecting a proudly Australian element that symbolizes both the proud past and bright future of this region.
