The future Pride camp will feature 80 male and female athletes from across NSW and will be held at the Sydney Olympic Hockey Centre over six days from Thursday, November 19 to Tuesday, November 24.
The camp will feature eight (four female, four male) fully competitive intra-squad matches scheduled on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday.
The purpose of the camp is to provide an opportunity for identified NSW athletes at an elite and pre-elite level to train and play in a high-performance environment, after a lack of opportunities throughout the year due to COVID-19 interruptions.
The cohort of players were identified for the camp from current national development, junior and future squads, current Kookaburra and Hockeyroos squads, NSW under 18 and under 21 state teams, as well as identified NSW mature age athletes.
NSW Pride men's head coach Brent Livermore is looking to use the camp as an opportunity to grow on the success of his team in last year's Hockey One competition.
"After winning the inaugural Hockey One Championship last year, I am looking to build the depth and quality of the team, as well as educating both athletes and coaches for 2021 and beyond," Livermore said.
"I'm looking forward to this camp which should be high quality competition to see out 2020 and prepare us for the defence of our title next season."
