Nowra SES recruit Maddie joined in February this year and despite the training challenges faced during the COVID pandemic, was able to complete her storm and water damage training.
It gave her the skill set required to assist not only the local community but interstate.
Nowra unit commander Jo Allen said it was a great opportunity for members to put trained skills to good use and to assist another state in their time of need.
"Maddie is a keen field response member, constantly putting her hand up to attend requests for assistance locally and volunteering to go interstate shows her dedication to helping others in their time of need," Mrs Allen said.

Maddie was teamed up with members from Bega, Lake Macquarie and Casino Units while on deployment and said it was an excellent opportunity to work alongside members from other units.
"It was an honour and a privilege to be a part of the Bravo team deployment, to help out with the recent hailstorm," she said.
"Helping out other towns, cities and states is a great way to build new skills, friends and knowledge to pass on to local units to benefit our local community, not to mention it was great fun."
The NSW SES South Eastern Zone Bravo strike team contingent was made up of over 45 Volunteer members.
The 5 day deployment saw them working 10 hour days in 40 degree heat.
Amazing work from the Shoalhaven's SES volunteers.
