THE future of South Coast footballers appears in good hands after the recent appointment of Norm Boardman as Southern Branch FC's technical director.
Boardman, a former manager of coaching and development Southern Branch FC, returns to the South Coast after 17 years, with his most recent stop being as head coach of Macarthur Rams Women's FC.
He began his coaching career at the tender age of 13 and has since worked across all levels of the games including as head coach of the Western Sydney Wanders W-League side and Pararoos assistant coach.
He's also held roles as the Football Federation of Australia (FFA) national community coach education manager, Football NSW technical director of football and Bankstown District Soccer Association director of coaching, while also being part of the AFC Champions League and other Asian Football Confederation tournament's technical study group.
During that time, he's also coached of numerous Football NSW state teams (both men's and women's), as well as having stints in the Illawarra Premier League with Picton and Dandaloo.
Southern Branch FC president is over the moon Boardman, whose son Brad played at Gerringong, has decided to return to the Ison Park-based club, from the 2021 season moving forward.
"He will be a massive asset to Southern Branch FC and to women's football on the South Coast," Wright said.
"We welcome Norm with open arms and look forward to the opportunities and pathways this will create for girls and women in our South East region.
"2020 has been a difficult year, let's make 2021 something special."
