Finalists from regional New South Wales, Sydney, Canberra and some from interstate had their artworks on show for the 1300 people who visited.
Just under $100,000 worth of artworks were sold, including $33,000 by local artists.
Visual Arts Director Gary Moore said it was a record for the region.
"It's unheard of for any previous art event in the South Coast or Southern Highlands, and great news for local and regional artists," he said.
All prize money - $18,350 in total - was donated by Kangaroo Valley residents.
This year's event saw the Salon of Local Artists prize introduced after local donor Alice Oppen OAM voiced a common sentiment
Local donor Alice Oppen OAM was the inaugural donor of its prize, voicing the common sentiment of wanting to do more for local artists.
The director Gary Moore came up with idea of a Salon of Local Artists, and Alice was happy to be the inaugural donor of its prize.
Gary said the October long weekend event was well-received by everyone who visited.
"Th Art Trail was especially popular and a real treat to be able to chat directly with artists in their studios," he said.
"Visual Arts in the Valley has grown from a local show into an emerging national event, yet it has lost none of its local and regional flavour."
Curator Jane Cush reviewed more than 630 entries, with 120 being hung finalists.

- Kangaroo Valley Art Prize ($6000) - Tony Ameneiro from Bowral, Nattai River Landscape.
- Kangaroo Valley Art Prize Highly Commended ($2000) - Amala Groom from Bathurst, The Visibility of Blackness
- Salon of Local Artists Prize ($1,500) - Patrick Cummins from Kangaroo Valley, Burnt Landscape - Jacks Corner Road.
- Salon of Local Artists Commended ($500, and sold) - A-F Fulgence from Kangaroo Valley, Untitled #10.
