The kindness of strangers
I was recently in Coles supermarket and as usual I was fumbling for my credit card to pay for the groceries. This process was taking some time. The lady from the next register lent over in front of me while I continued fumbling, she unbeknownst to me paid the amount that was owed. When I collected myself and my goods and tried to find her to properly thank her, she had left. What a kind act! I do hope she reads this letter and to say thank you thank you thank you.

Opposition is shortsighted
The Shoalhaven councillors' opposition to the apartment complex development in Kinghorne Street would seem to be a shortsighted decision given the perilous state of our regional economies at this time.
Arguing that the loss of a few car spaces versus the employment opportunities the construction would bring to Nowra and the flow-on economic effects for business and tourism - it is a weak argument. If this council is characterised by anti-progress representatives, I would suggest the region will go backwards. Their actions won't be lost on the community.

Affordability is important
People need somewhere to live; local businesses need plenty of clientele too. I hope these proposed units in Kinghorne Street will be affordable. Are any designated as social housing units?

What about day access to dam?
Council's review of Danjera Dam access is great news for camping, though I am an avid fishermen and there are only a few areas within the Shoalhaven to fish freshwater, Danjera being one of the main ones. This article does not mention day access and now Tallowa Dam has day access why can't the council do the same for Danjera in the interim?

All the best, Cr Digiglio
A councillor who has integrity and cares for her community Is a good thing. Good luck, Nina Digiglio, heading out as an independent. Thank you for your work at Shoalhaven City Council.

Bridge won't solve anything
How good would a Nowra bypass be? The increase in tourism, population and industry demands a suitable solution to the traffic turmoil and congestion we continue to experience. The new bridge will not solve anything, just like the four lanes from Berry to Bomaderry. Nowra was gridlocked on Wednesday. The amenity of the city has been trashed by poor planning. The corridor for the bypass has been earmarked for over 30 years but no one has the gumption to act.
J. Brumerskyj, Nowra
