Work will be carried out on sections of the Princes Highway, Scenic Drive and Bolong, Illaroo and Bridge roads.
"To minimise impacts to motorists, and for the safety of workers, some of this work will be carried out at night from Wednesday, October 7 for up to four weeks," the RMS release said.
"Night work will be carried out from Sunday to Thursday between 6pm and 5am, weather permitting.
"A section of footpath on Bridge Road on the eastern side will also be closed from Friday 9 October, weather permitting."
Pedestrians can detour at the signalised crossing on the Princes Highway or via a new temporary pedestrian refuge near Hyam Street which will be built over two nights this week.
Planned traffic changes during night work will include lane closures, intermittent stop/slow traffic conditions, and reduced speeds of 40 km/h.
Electronic signs will be in place before and during these changes to advertise specific locations and dates in advance.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
