At Bomaderry Public School, staff and students have been doing a lot of significant work and learning around the importance of positive well-being at school and in the community.
As a part of this learning, the BPS Positive Behaviour for Learning Team organised a special day in recognition of R U OK? Day.
Students came dressed in yellow and participated in a variety of activities that were organised by the BPS staff.
These activities focused on communication, compassion, mindfulness and awareness of positive well-being and promoted and encouraged friendships, resilience, help seeking skills and respectful relationships.

Some of the activities included - conversations at the Buddy Bench; stories of kindness; letters of gratitude to family members; cards written to our essential workers; yarning circles; yoga and breathing work; self-care; fitness and cooperation; messages of kindness to community members; a collaborative mural, promoting cultural kindness and acceptance; friendship bracelets; team challenges; sandcastle building; letters to deployed ADF families; learning strategies when we are not OK; brain breaks and many more.
All the students and staff had a wonderful day celebrating, inspiring and empowering each other, making meaningful connections and supporting well-being on a large scale.
The clear message is that Bomaderry Public will continue to be a driving force in the area of positive relationships, positive mental health, positive well-being and positive mindset.
These values are continually reinforced and embedded into the school culture of being Safe Respectful Learners.
Bomaderry Public works together to ensure the whole school community feels known, valued and cared for.
