The former Bulli star scored his first goal for the Wolves, a side featuring Milton-Ulladulla's Chris Price, this year in their 2-nil victory over Blacktown, with Josh Bingham also netting his first of the season.
The strike was a long time coming for Beattie, the crafty attacker coming close on a number of occasions but struggling to turn his chances into goals.
He made no mistake on Sunday and he hopes it's the first of many this season.
"I've been waiting a few weeks for that one," Beattie said.
"I've had a few that I probably should've scored get tapped off the line, so it gets a bit frustrating. It's a good feeling being an attacker getting a goal and hopefully I can kick on now and get more."
Bingham and Beattie handed the Wolves a 2-nil lead before the half-time break, with the hosts forced to dig in throughout the second stanza to maintain the advantage.
Entering the game without a win, Blacktown were desperate for a result and they controlled possession for lengthy periods as they fought to narrow the gap.
Wollongong's defence held firm, however, with the returning Nick Littler and Chris Price helping to ensure the visitors were turned away on each occasion.
Wolves coach Luke Wilkshire praised his players for fighting to keep a clean sheet.
"The defence was fantastic," Wilkshire said.
"There were a lot of balls thrown into the box and we were very good all throughout the back four and [Guy Knight] in front there."
