The South Coast side sits in fourth spot on the opens conference B ladder after four rounds.
However, for the Blaze's first club captain, it's not just about on-court performances in 2020.
"It's something very special to be part of a club in its inaugural year," Davies said.
"We can really help build our foundation and our values, and set the standard for the future of South Coast Blaze and sport on the South Coast - especially for netball obviously.
"It's an absolute honour to be named club captain."
The Blaze will return to the court on Wednesday night to take on the GWS Fury.
It will be a tough challenge for South Coast, against an opponent that has secured three wins so far in 2020.
However, Davies said Blaze were keen to record their second victory.
"We are getting stronger and improving each week which is awesome," she said.
