The organisers of the 2020 Burradise Festival at Culburra Beach tried to find a way to hold the annual beachside creative festival safely, however, Alex McNeilly, Chair and event director said there was "no choice" but to cancel the festival.
"We feel that under the current COVID-19 event restrictions and the associated risks to our community we have no choice but to postpone the Burradise Festival at Culburra Beach until 2021," he said.
"It is very important to our board, committee and as well as all of our wonderful volunteers that we protect our Culburra Beach community and village during the pandemic."
"The Burradise Festival organisation moved the major weekend festival event to September this year in the hope of launching several new creative elements to the festival program.
"The new festival events included an outdoor cultural short-film festival, regional photography competition, health, yoga and wellbeing programs plus a collective arts exhibit and regional makers market.
"The new activities combined with our multicultural food fair extravaganza, three days and nights of live original music, skate boarding jam events, the annual Surf Bash surfing tournament by the Culburra Beach Boardriders Club and the many free fun activities for kids, families and visitors will all roll over to next year."
The Burradise Festival at Culburra Beach is now scheduled for September 24 - 26 in 2021.
The Love Culburra Beach Inc board and volunteer committee are now working on hosting their second annual Culburra Beach Christmas Fair, planned for Friday, December 11 2020 with live on-stage carols, music and entertainment, gift stalls, delicious festive foods and treats plus a special visit by Santa Claus himself.
