In the statement, the Health District initially stated that two people who were infectious with COVID-19 attended the wildginger restaurant in Huskisson on Saturday, August 8 from 7.45pm to 10.30pm.
There were two people who travelled to the area who subsequently tested positive to COVID-19 after leaving the area, however only one positive COVID-19 case attended the wildginger restaurant at the time and date indicated.
Both of these people are from outside the Local Health District and are linked with the Tangara School for Girls cluster.
The message to the community around this case remains the same.
Patrons and staff who were at the venue at the same time as the confirmed case have been instructed to self-isolate for 14 days and to get tested for COVID-19.
If they develop symptoms, they should seek another test.
They should remain in isolation, even if they test negative, until 23 August.
To help stop the spread of COVID-19:
- If you are unwell, stay in, get tested and isolate.
- Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out.
- Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others.
- Wear a mask in situations where you cannot physically distance.
To help meet increased demand for testing in the Shoalhaven, starting tomorrow Thursday 13 July, the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) will establish a pop-up clinic in St Georges Basin.
The clinic is co-located at St Georges Basin Community Health Centre, 21 Mereton St, St Georges Basin and will operate 8am-4pm weekdays.
The hours will be reviewed based on demand. No appointments or referrals are necessary.
The Local Health District also has free community COVID-19 Assessment Clinics located at Wollongong, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven and Milton Ulladulla Hospitals.
Free testing is also available at the GP Respiratory Clinics located at Sanctuary Point (195 Kerry Street, Sanctuary Point) and Ulladulla (114 Princes Highway Ulladulla, in the carpark behind Anytime Fitness). Appointments for the GP Respiratory Clinics are essential. Visit the LHD's website for more information: https://www.islhd.health.nsw.gov.au/covid-19-assessment-clinic.
NSW has more COVID-19 testing clinics than any other State or Territory and people are urged to visit an alternative site if there is heavy demand at one location. A full list of testing clinics is available on the NSW Health website. People can also visit their local GP.
