The course is designed for those new to public speaking and for experienced speakers to brush up on their skills.
The course starts on August 27 with introduction evening on Zoom, followed by six weeks of education, training and experience from September 3 to October 8.
Course content includes speech construction, controlling nerves, impromptu speaking, introducing a speaker, giving and receiving feedback, improving vocal variety and volume and assisting with body language.
Each week is structured with speech assignments to complete and plenty of practice opportunities.
At the end participants receive a certificate and letter to your employer which you can add to your resume.
The course is taught by speakers who have done the Toastmasters program and understand how it feels to be nervous or need support to speak well, and provides a friendly learning environment.
Nowra Toastmasters recently celebrated their 40th year and hold regular club meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at UOW Shoalhaven Campus, West Nowra. The meetings are appropriate for new speakers.
