One team in particular that has been jumping out of their skins to return to the hardwood is Scott Balsar's Illawarra Hawks youth men's side.
"We've been back on court for a couple of weeks now and all the boys have responded really well, considering the quick turn around," coach Balsar said.
"Since returning to full-contact work, we've started to hit our straps and I believe we are in a better spot now than when the season got postponed - as we've had more time to breakdown some of those weaker facets in our game."
After a grinding win against Manly-Warringah in the season opener, the red and whites, which feature Shoalhaven's Gavin Costain and Ziad El Tobgy, will return to the Snakepit this Saturday to host the Bankstown Bruins - who defeated Central Coast 84-74 in round one.
"We played Bankstown in the pre-season and have an idea of their game plan," Balsar said.
"They have a massive team, that like to get out on the break and run.
"It's key we get three guys to every rebounding contest and try secure as many boards as we can.
"It's then important for us to to find our man quickly and not let them have any easy shots because they have the ability to put points up in a hurry.
"If we can get them out of their flow, I'm confident our squad has the weapons to punish them - especially if we take our time and find the right shot on offence.
"As I keep telling the boys, we might not be the most talented team in the competition but if we play harder than our opponents, we will be in every single game."
"With the season being so short, it's absolutely crucial you win every home game," Balsar, who's staff contains fellow Shoalhaven products Erwin Balsar and Jason Funnell, said.
"Then if you can steal a couple of the road, it sets you up really nicely.
"Seven or eight wins will probably be needed to get into the top four - which is what our whole group is working towards."
