Especially after they welcomed back local junior Matt Scott to the club, after four years in the nation's capital.
Scott, who spent time with the Canberra Raiders' under 20s side and Mounties' Jersey Flegg team before plying his trade with the West Belconnen Warriors, decided to return home recently after the Canberra competition was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"It was pretty disappointing when I found out the season has been called off," the Nowra High School alumna said.
"However, I was kind of expecting it to be honest, so it didn't shock me."
The 22-year-old prop joins a forward pack that already contains Dylan Farrell, Ryan James, Zac Kershaw, Josh Power-Farrell and Dylan Buchanan.
"I was speaking to a couple of the Jets boys recently and we got talking about footy this season," Scott, who last played for the club in 2016, said.
"Once they realised I wasn't playing in Canberra, they asked if I'd be keen to come back and have a run with the boys.
"Then after speaking with captain/coach Dylan [Farrell], he said they'd love to have me back at the club.
"It's especially exciting to come back and play with guys like Tyson [Simpson] and Zac [Blattner] who I played juniors with."
Scott, who was also part of the Monaro Colts under 23s country championships side this season, is hopeful he can help bring another Group Seven premiership to the Rugby Park-based club, after playing a starring role in their under 18s title in 2015.
"I bring a strong work ethic to the side, by being able to play big minutes and get through plenty of work in the middle of the park - elements which I've taken to the next level by playing against higher quality opposition on a weekly basis," Scott said.
"If I can do that on a consistent basis, I'm sure I'll be an asset to the side.
"If everyone can do their role in our very talented side, then I know we are capable of at least making finals.
"However, after speaking to all the boys, the main goal for this group is a premiership - something that would be really special with my junior club."
