Residents have been battling since May to have the council revise a decision which would see 317 mature trees removed from the lane as part of the Far North Collector Road project.
The 'tree tunnel' along Taylors Lane is beloved of residents and visitors alike, and the scene of a number of wedding photographs.

Residents have consistently shown their preference for an option that leaves the trees in place, and their persistence has been rewarded.
Councillor Nina Digiglio said it was unconscionable to fell such a large number of mature trees after the losses over the bushfire season.
"Taylors Lane has been a divisive issue," she said.
"The trees are a unique feature of the area, and the tree tunnel is the last of its kind in the Shoalhaven.
"The rural landscape is part of our cultural heritage, and an important tourism asset."
A decision on the upgrade has been deferred until a review of options for Taylors Lane, with a focus on retaining the trees, has been completed.
