IN the wake of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the South Coast sports scene, the Nowra Shoalhaven Touch Association has decided to cancel its 2020 winter competition.
Following an executive meeting on Monday, the association made the tough decision.
"We are yet to receive a clear ruling from NSW Touch as to what we can and can't do in regards to training, as well as when competition might return to the field," Nowra Shoalhaven Touch Association registrar/treasurer Belinda Holt said.
"As such, we have decided to cancel our winter competition, because we don't see much point running an eight-week competition, including finals - not to mention how much work would be needed to make it happen.
"We are now going to work towards getting our summer competition up and running again.
"As an executive, we thank everyone for their patience and look forward to seeing you on the field soon."
The NSTA executive plan to meet again in the coming week to get the ball rolling on their summer competition, which they plan on starting in October.
Holt also encouraged teams to start getting their teams together and keep an eye on the Nowra Shoalhaven Touch Association Facebook page for upcoming announcements.
