Ms Brooks has featured on TV shows Mastermind and Hard Quiz.
Her second appearance on Hard Quiz was for special event "Battle of the Duds" - but Ms Brooks had bigger ambitions.
When she was selecting her wardrobe for the show, a friend spotted a kaftan covered in gold Logies - the perfect homage to host Tom Gleeson's recent Logie win.
Another friend suggested the iconic kaftan could be signed and auctioned for charity. Ms Brooks knew instantly which cause she wanted to throw her support behind.
"I lost my mum to suicide, and my friend who made the suggestion lost her mum," Ms Brooks said.
"Lifeline is very close to my heart."
The kaftan went up for auction on eBay, and had raised more than $400 by Friday, May 1.
"Hard Quiz was a wonderful experience, and to be able to use it to do something like this is very special," Ms Brooks said.
"In the era we're living in mental health is really important. I think there are positives to be taken out of this, but we need to be aware of others and remember to check in on people and give them a call."
