The historic southbound bridge will be closed to carry out urgent repairs on a section of the bridge deck.
Southbound traffic travelling across the Shoalhaven River will be diverted onto the northbound bridge in a contraflow traffic arrangement, with one lane operating in each direction.
To minimise the impact on motorists work will be carried out between 8pm and 4am Tuesday, March 31, weather permitting.

Traffic signals will be switched off at intersections near the bridge and traffic controllers will direct vehicles at these intersections.
A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and road users.
Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
The 1881 built steel bridge will be replaced with a $342 million new crossing of the Shoalhaven River upstream of the concrete northbound crossing.
Transport for NSW thanks road users for their patience during this time.
