But there is one thing for certain, NSW Police including those on the South Coast, like all emergency services and essential services will continue to perform our duty.
COVID-19 is dictating changes to our everyday life and for all our safety we need to adhere to all the new guidelines that at this stage seem to be released each day.
We all just need to follow the advice, wash our hands thoroughly, adhere to the social distancing recommendations and if you are in isolation abide by isolation time frames.
Remember the NSW Health orders to deal with the public health risk of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Non-essential activities and businesses have been temporarily shut down:
- Pubs (licensed bottle shops attached to pubs may still operate).
- Registered clubs.
- Gyms, indoor sporting venues (this includes indoor dance classes).
- Cinemas, entertainment venues (including music halls, concert halls, billiards, pool or gaming arcades).
- Casinos and nightclubs.
- Restaurants and cafes will be restricted to takeaway and/or home delivery (drive through allowed).
Food courts have closed (other than for takeaways), open homes and beauty salons other than hairdressers.
You should not have house parties, large family gatherings, even family barbecues.
The restrictions apply across NSW, including regional and rural NSW.
Certainly, it is hard and heartbreaking in cases only to be allowed to have five people at a wedding or 10 at a loved-one's funeral.
But these measures are all for our own safety and the safety of others. The orders will stay in place as long as they are necessary to protect the health of the NSW public.
Please just follow the directions.
Police will follow up information where people are allegedly ignoring the directions.
Above all else please remain calm on the roads and with each other during these times.
Especially in the supermarkets - we won't run out of food or the highly sought after toilet paper, although the latter is hard to get at times.
Remember you can Dob in a Druggie any time you like by contacting Nowra Police or ringing Crime Stoppers. Do not drink and drive. As always, in case of an emergency call 000. In non-emergencies call the Policelink on 131 444 or your local police station. To provide anonymous information call Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000. For domestic and family violence information, visit www.police.nsw.gov.au. For Shoalhaven Domestic Violence officers call 4421 9666 or 4421 9665 or email shoaldvlo@police.nsw.gov.au.
Don't forget, cops are tops.
P.S: REMEMBER - WASH YOUR HANDS
