The City of Shoalhaven Eisteddfod, arguably one of the region's biggest creative arts events won't be held this year.
The eisteddfod committee released the following statement to explain why the event would be cancelled.
"Sadly, the City of Shoalhaven Eisteddfod will not go ahead this year," the statement said.
"This is a very difficult decision for the organising committee to make, however, given the current situation concerning COVID-19, we feel that this is the only responsible action to take.
"There are concerns on many fronts and it is better to make the decision sooner rather than later.
"We're already aware of restrictions on crowds of over 500 and that may well change in the coming days and weeks.
"We have a duty of care to the competitors, adjudicators, audience members and our volunteers.
"Refunds will be made to all competitors, sponsors and donors in the coming days."
