It is understood as part of the hospital's mitigation strategies, to combat the virus, access to some parts of the hospital have been restricted to the public simply as a precaution.
Earlier today is was confirmed a female patient at the hospital had tested positive for COVID-19.
The community is urged to remain calm.
Planning is in hand to establish an assessment clinic similar to the one that started in Wollongong on Monday in the Shoalhaven.
Earlier today as part of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District's (ISLHD) response to COVID-19, visitor numbers were started to be limited at each of the area's hospitals.
People are being advised to limit visitors to no more than two people at a time at Wollongong, Coledale, Bulli, Port Kembla, Shellharbour, David Berry, Shoalhaven and Milton Ulladulla Hospitals.

Female patient at Shoalhaven Hospital tests positive for COVID-19
A female patient currently being treated at Shoalhaven District Hospital has tested positive for COVID-19.
NSW Health public health and infection control officers are urgently working with hospital staff to ensure all patients, staff and others who may have had close contact with the female patient are identified.
It is the first case of coronavirus to be diagnosed in the Nowra area.

These people are being contacted and will be in self-isolation for 14 days after their last contact with the confirmed case.
Several mitigation strategies are in place to ensure continuity of service at Shoalhaven Hospital.
