At the present, Group Seven is slated to start on April 4 but with the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe, numerous other sports have decided to postpone the starts of their 2020 season.

In a statement by NSWRL, it explained;
The NSWRL and its board, in conjunction with the NRL and affiliated states, will make an announcement tomorrow regarding the conduct of community rugby league and its major competitions in 2020.
NSWRL chief executive David Trodden explained they are doing all the due diligence before making a decision.
"NSWRL is in close and constant consultation with the NRL and the NRL chief medical officer Dr Paul Bloomfield," NSWRL chief executive David Trodden said.

"We would like to stress that given the fluidity of the situation around the COVID-19 pandemic, it will continue to act on expert advice, with the health and safety of our players, staff and officials the paramount consideration in regards to any decision."
In other rugby league news, Group Seven Junior Rugby League has pushed back its start date on Tuesday to May 5.
Just in the past week alone, South Coast sports organisations such as Illawarra Rugby, Shoalhaven Netball Association, Shoalhaven Hockey, Shoalhaven Basketball Association and the Nowra Velo Club have all delayed the starts of their upcoming campaigns.
