Now the 21-year-old will get the chance, after penning a deal with Lymm Oughtrington Park Cricket Club in England.
This is the same club fellow Bomaderry Cricket Club product Blake Munilla played at in 2019.
"This opportunity came to fruition thanks to the help of my mate Blake Munilla, who I used to play with at Bomaderry," Blattner said.
"He pointed me in the right direction and helped establish contact between the club and myself.
"Once that started, it all happened quickly and they were happy to have me for their summer season."

The Bomaderry High School alumnus will leave for the United Kingdom on April 12.
"Hearing stories from Blake and a few older players I used to be teammates with, has made playing cricket overseas something I've always aspired to do," he said.
"Now it's less than a month until I leave, it's all starting to get a bit real.
"But I know it's going to be a positive and eye-opening experience - I'm really looking forward to it."
Once he arrives, Blattner knows there will be an adjustment period, as this will be the first time he's lived overseas.

"The biggest adjustment for myself will definitely be the weather and the time differences during the first few weeks," he said.
"Also living out of home for the first time will be tough but I'm sure all the people at the club will help me out when needed."
On the back of a strong season captaining Bomaderry, which currently sit in third on the Shoalhaven District Cricket Association first grade ladder, Blattner will be looking to carry that form across to his new club.
"My goal, first and foremost it to deliver a premiership to Lymm, by playing the cricket I know I'm capable of week in, week out - especially with the bat," he said.
"On top of on-field success, I'm looking forward to making some lifelong friends and experiencing a different culture - aspects I'm sure I'll keep with me for the rest of my life."
