A Sanctuary Point man who allegedly choked a woman to unconsciousness, detained her against her will and filmed himself having intercourse with her and distributed the footage has been refused bail.

The 27-year-old has not entered any pleas to two counts of taking and detaining a person with intent to obtain advantage causing grievous bodily harm, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of common assault, two counts of contravening an apprehended violence order, intentionally distribute an intimate image without consent and intentionally choke a person with recklessness.
The accused applied for bail in Nowra Local Court before Magistrate Michael Love on March 3, which was refused.
Police allege the charges stem from domestic violence incidents against a woman late last year at Sanctuary Point and again on March 1 this year.
It is alleged on March 1 between 8am and 2pm the man held the woman against her will with the intention of inflicting further assaults on the her.
During her alleged ordeal court documents claim the accused choked the woman to "unconsciousness", leaving the victim "insensible and incapable of resistance".
It is also alleged he filmed himself having sexual intercourse with her and distributed the footage.
He also faces a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He is also charged with allegedly detaining the woman in North Willoughby, on the Sydney north shore, in December last year, as well as assaulting the same woman at Sanctuary Point between December 11 and December 26 where he also allegedly inflicted actual bodily harm.
He is also charged with contravening apprehended violence orders on two occasions.
The matter will be back in court on April 27.
