The Eagles, who were kept scoreless for the first three quarters by Greater Western Sydney last week, made a fast start against the Bulldogs, dominating the play and getting some reward via a classy Ashlee Atkins snap - to go into the first break up by seven points.
The visitors rebounded in the second term, by kicking two majors, to head into half-time up by five points.
Sensing their chance to record the historic first victory, the Eagles kicked 2.2 in the third, to the Bulldogs 0.2, to head into the final period with a seven-point advantaged.
Despite consistent pressure and numerous shots on goal by the Bulldogs, the AFL South Coast product's Eagles dug deep and held on for a memorable four-point victory.
