On the opening day of the four-day tour match, Australia A won the toss and elected to bowl.
England batsmen Dan Lawrence (125) and Dominic Dibley (116) made the hosts rue that decision, as the Lions finished at 428 in their first innings.
The pick of the bowlers with the pink ball were Mark Steketee (4/75) and Mitchell Swepson (3/97).
In reply, hosts crumbled to be all out for 176, despite an unbeaten 50 from Jack Wildermuth.

Bomaderry High School alumnus Maddinson, batting at three, could only manage one run from his four deliveries - as Brydon Crase (3/50) and Ollie Robinson (3/66) ripped through the Australian line-up.
After being forced to follow on, Maddinson led the fightback for the hosts - hitting eight boundaries on his way to scoring 52 from 55 balls.
His impressive knock was only better by second-drop Kurtis Patterson, who finished at 96 not out - as Australia finished at 271.
Craig Overton (4/67) and Robinson (4/81) claimed four scalps each for England.

This set the Lions a target of 20 runs for victory, a task they easily achieved (1/20) thanks to Zac Crawley's 10 not out.
Maddinson will now return to the Victoria Cricket Team ahead of their match with South Australia at the Adelaide Oval from March 6.
While the Lions will continue their tour against the NSW second XI - where they'll lock horns in a four-day match at North Dalton Park from March 2.
