CHAMPIONS were crowned both on the beach and in the surf at Gerringong on Saturday, as they hosted the 2019/20 South Coast Branch Championships.

The junior section was taken out by Warilla-Barrack Point, who collected 495 points on the day - with Gerringong (247), Mollymook (235), Kiama (226), Kiama Downs (166), Shellharbour (104) and Nowra-Culburra (87) rounding out the top seven.
These standings come on the back of strong individual results across the board - starting in the beach flags.
Warilla's Adelle Gray (under 8s), Warilla's Georgie Pickering (under 9s), Kiama's Imogen Moore (under 10s), Mollymook's Charleigh Hurley (under 11s), Mollymook's Charlotte Campbell (under 12s), Kiama's Daisy Laird (under 13s) and Kiama Downs' Mischa Boniface (under 14s) all claimed gold medals in the girls flags.
While Kiama's Tahlo McGuire (under 8s), Mollymook's Thomas Tudor-Jones (under 9s), Kiama's Allen Dalton (under 10s), Kiama Downs' Miller Siasat (under 11s), Nowra-Culburra's Dustin Cook (under 12s), Kiama's Jackson Farland (under 13s) and Nowra-Culburra's Hugh Vaughan (under 14s) all won their respective boys flags events.
In the beach sprint, girls line honours went to Shellharbour's Lola Clare (under 8s), Kiama Downs' Ginger Siasat (under 9s), Kiama's Imogen Moore (under 10s), Kiama's Sage Laird (under 11s), Kiama's Soraya Philip-Rudd (under 12s), Kiama's Daisy Laird (under 13s) and Kiama Downs' Mischa Boniface (under 14s), as Kiama Downs' Jack Calcraft (under 8s), Kiama Downs' Eli Quinn (under 9s), Shellharbour's Carson Blacksmith (under 10s), Kiama Downs' Miller Siasat (under 11s), Kiama's Lincoln Moore (under 12s), Warilla's Riley Moran (under 13s) and Warilla's Jackson Walsh (under 14s) starred in the boys section.
Into the surf and top spot in the girl's board went to Warilla's Georgie Pickering (under 9s), Gerringong's Lucy Darragh (under 10s), Mollymook's Freya Bryant (under 11s), Warilla's Savannah Hincksman (under 12s), Warilla's Montana Doubell (under 13s) and Warilla's Kelly Blair (under 14s) - with Mollymook's Finn Ireland (under 9s), Gerringong's Archie Weir (under 10s), Warilla's Maddix Burke (under 11s), Warilla's Storm Balmain (under 12s), Warilla's Jayden Beaumont (under 13s) and Warilla's Logan Doubell (under 14s) excelling in the boys.
In the surf swim, Warilla's George Pickering (under 9s), Warilla's Imogen Walsh (under 10s), Mollymook's Charleigh Hurley (under 11s), Warilla's Yve Fittock (under 12s), Warilla's Montana Doubell (under 13s) and Mollymook's Estella Campbell (under 14s) finished first in the girls, as did Shellharbour's Henry Sanders (under 9s), Warilla's Campbell Thompson (under 10s), Warilla's Maddix Burke (under 11s), Warilla's Storm Balmain (under 12s), Warilla's Will Fowler (under 13s) and Warilla's Jackson Walsh (under 14s) in the boys.
The final lot of individual junior events contested was in the ironperson, with Warilla's Chloe Barnes (under 11s), Gerringong's Tiana Darragh (under 12s), Montana Doubell (under 13s) and Kelly Blair (under 14s) winning the girls and Warilla's Maddix Burke (under 11s), Warilla's Storm Balmain (under 12s), Warilla's Jayden Beaumont (under 13s) and Warilla's Jackson Walsh (under 14s) taking out the boys.
Moving on to the senior section and Warilla again won the overall point score with 395, easily accounting for Gerringong (186), Mollymook (122), Shellharbour (59), Kiama (52), Nowra-Culburra (12) and Kiama Downs (10).
Women's beach flag victors were Mollymook's Karla Jones (under 15s), Warilla's Kirra Dale (under 17s), Warilla's Kirra Dale (open's), Gerringong's Jocelyn Quinn (30-39 years) and Mollymook's Natalee Johnston (40-49) as Warilla's Brock Neall (under 15s), Gerringong's Harrison Wicks (under 17s), Gerringong's Avis Cooper (open's), Shellharbour's Mark Dabros (30-39), Kiama's Michael Farland (40-49) and Kiama's Steven Beauchamp (50+) took out their respective men's events.
Mollymook's Karla Jones (under 15s), Warilla's Kirra Dale (under 17s), Gerringong's Julia Payne (30-39) and Mollymook's Natalee Johnston (40-49) reigned supreme in the women's beach sprint, as did Warilla's Zachary Byron (under 15s), Gerringong's Owen Wall (under 17s), Warilla's Nathan Robinson (open's), Gerringong's Lachlan Payne (30-39), Gerringong's Darren Wall (40-49) in the men.
Women's board race honours went to Warilla's Ivy Halliwell (under 15s), Warilla's Zeely Carberry (under 17s), Mollymook's Simone Scott (40-49) and Shellharbour's Kathy Parramore (50+) - as Warilla's Zachary Byron (under 15s), Wailla's Nathan Robinson (under 17s), Warilla's Tyler McEwan (open's), Gerringong's Mitchell Payne (30-39), Mollymook's Tony Ireland (40-49) and Mollymook's Robert Scott (50+) shone in the men.
While the women's swim races were dominated by Warilla's Ivy Halliwell (under 15s), Warilla's Kirra Dale (under 17s), Warilla's Taylah Allen (open's), Gerringong's Melissa Lam (30-39), Shellharbour's Dana Richards (40-49) and Shellharbour's Kathy Parramore (50+).
Warilla's Brock Neall (under 15s), Warilla's Nathan Robinson (under 17s), Warilla's Tyler McEwan (open's), Gerringong's Michael Quinn (30-39), Warilla's Craig Burke (40-49) and Mollymook's Paul Jones (50+) all topped the podium in their men's races.
Ski winners were Warilla's Kirra Dale (under 17 women), Warilla's Ryan Hall (under 17 men), Warilla's James Haigh (open men), Mollymook's David Tudor-Jones (40-49) and Mollymook's Robert Scott (50+).
Ironperson champions were Warilla's Tylah Richards (under 15 women), Warilla's Jackson Sheedy (under 15s men), Warilla's Kirra Dale (under 17s women), Warilla's Nathan Robinson (under 17s men), Warilla's Taylah Allen (open women), Warilla's Black McKay (open men) and Mollymook's Tony Ireland (masters men).
The junior athletes will quickly shift their focus to the NSW Surf Life Saving Age Championships at Lake Macquaire's Blacksmiths Beach - hosted by the Swansea Belmont SLSC.
More than 2700 nippers will compete across 30 events at the state championships, from February 28 to March 1 - with this marking the official 52nd year the event has been staged.
The South Coast Branch will be sending 52 junior athletes to the titles, with the nippers representing Warilla-Barrack Point, Kiama Downs, Kiama, Shellharbour and Mollymook - with Jacob Jones being the lone competitor from the latter.
Under 13s competitor Jones will contest the swim, board and ironperson at the titles.
Following the junior carnival, the state masters championships will get underway, which will feature Mollymook's Daniel Robberds, Glen Beveridge, Steine Lofts, Todd Muller, Tim Sullivan, Tony Ireland, David Tudor-Jones, Paul Buttel, Mike Mead, Ashley Cheney, Armalie Muller, Sue Kayo and Tegan Davies, as well as the club's reserve women, reserve men (two), under 23s men and 200-year men masters boat crews.
The state titles will wrap up with the opens, which contains Mollymook's Sam Zustovich, Brock Scrivener, Jack Bridges, Payton Williams and Karla Jones.
