At Panthers Stadium, the Glen Buffolin coached Dragons opened their Laurie Daley Cup (under 18s) season with a 20-12 win against Penrith.
After leading 8-4 at the break, the Dragons pushed on to secure an eight-point win, thanks to tries from James Mcclelland (two), Jordan Karakousis and Dilian Asanoski - with Toby Peters adding two conversions.

Unfortunately, the Dragons' Andrew Johns Cup (under 16s) side - coached by Aaron McDonald - weren't as successful, going down 40-12 to the Dragons.
In the loss, Jaxon Lavender and Neasan Jha-Langley crossed for tries, as Taj Ford added two kicks.
In round two on Saturday, both teams travel to Campbelltown Stadium to face the Greater Southern Region Tigers - starting with the Andrew Johns Cup at 9.30am, which will be followed by the under 18s match at 11am.
