Captain Leif Maxwell aboard the HMAS Adelaide said relief efforts had continued throughout the day.
"We have continued to insert teams ashore via helicopter at Towamba, where technicians had been requested to assist with a generator, which has since been put back into service."
Crews also visited the fire-ravaged Pericoe area.
"They worked to establish what the local community's needs were and how we might be able to assist."
Further to those aid missions, a team of road vehicles were also deployed in Eden via landing craft and have been able to link up with a second Army convoy that drove in to Bega earlier on Thursday via the Brown Mountain and Princes Highway.
"The Adelaide also inserted landing craft carrying vehicles and personnel ashore at Eden. Our team in Australian Army G-Wagons, linked with other personnel at Bega and we know that we have a road corridor available to us between the two areas," Captain Maxfield said.
Some of those vehicles formed part of a special convoy, carrying much-needed supplies into Wonboyn in tandem with Police and state authorities.
"We will look to insert even more vehicles ashore in the next 24 hours and reach even further inland," Captain Maxfield said.
Mapping operations had also been carried out to establish potential locations for landing craft to potentially deliver supplies or access road networks.
"We have been reviewing data from aerial surveillance of the coastline of Merimbula, Tathra, Bermagui, Moruys, Broulee and Batemans Bay," Captain Maxfield said.
A liason team was deployed to Bermagui by sea and have contacted the local authorities the inform the vessel's next response for the area.
Captain Maxfield said the smoke had provided an ever-present challenge since arriving on Monday, but improved conditions on Thursday meant a number of tasks could be completed.
"Better conditions today meant we have been able to put people inland and work in partnership with state officials to keep building our understanding of where we can best meet the local needs for assistance and continue projecting our capabilities as required," he said.
