A maximum temperature of 20 degrees was predicted by the Bureau of Meteorology, and a medium chance of showers.
Whether the chilly change was a blessed relief or a rude shock, it didn't hang around for long.

Any respite from smoke haze will be minimal - the Bureau predicts some level of smoke haze will be present on the coast until at least Tuesday, December 17.
Maximum temperatures are set to hang around between 17 and 35 degrees for much of next week, with minimums of between 12 and 17 degrees offering some relief.
However on Thursday, December 19, the mercury is forecast to hit a blistering 37 degrees, before dipping to 28 on Friday and soaring to 42 on Saturday. Keep cool, keep hydrated, and carry on. Summer is here.
