Peter Dooley took nine seconds off his old record in the 2km event on Wednesday, December 4, at Nowra Athletics Club track and field competition. Peter motored around the five laps and crossed in 7min 19.99sec, smashing his old record of 7:29.0. Peter is in great shape and just keeps getting faster!

Cam Musgrove actually took out the 2km event in 6:41.97. He was followed by Harrison Baxter in 7:00.53 with Peter third across the line. Fourth was Tom Duncan in 7:28.71.
In the 600m Cam Musgrove was again the winner of heat 1 in 2:06.51. He was chased by Ethan Havadjia who finished second in 2:15.24 and Ryan Flemming was third in 2:24.06. Heat 2 of the seniors saw Andrew Crawford take the win in 3:00.68 although he did cross to lane 1 a little early! Second was Karly Goddard in 3:04.32 and third was Darlene Musgrove in 3:36.12.
Anna Duncan won the junior girls heat in 2:59.83 whilst Lily Sproule was second in 3:04.59 and Myra Betts was third in 3:06.15. The junior boys heat was taken out by Cameron Baxter in 2:47.14. Jett Goddard was next home in 2:50.01 and Oliver Baxter was third in 2:53.47.
Amongst the fastest sprinters were Ethan Havadjia, Jackson Jennings, Erin Smart, Lachlan Woods Ryan Flemming, Riley Power, Henry Parrish and Ruby Marshall.
Andrew Crawford, Lynne Vaughan and Karly Goddard all sprinted well in the masters events; and the junior sprinters recording fast times included Emily McLaren, Mireille Smith, Alisha Mustapic, Myra Betts, Cooper Barrett and Taigh Park.
In the field, Ron Cox hurled the discus 36.77m whilst Tim Musson threw 36.04m and Kane Barrett threw 32.50m.
Myra Betts furthered her record discus throw from November 20, increasing the distance from 23.63m to 26.49m for another new Under 9 years record. Well done Myra!
Next week is the last night for points competition before Christmas. The following week there will be a variety of Christmas-themed events so get the Christmas outfits ready for Wednesday, December 18.
