Community transport in the Shoalhaven has a new home, thanks to a generous gift.
The new building housing Coast and Country Community Services, who provide the Shoalhaven Community Transport service, was officially opened on November 8, by Minister for Regional Transport and Roads, Paul Toole.
Staff, volunteers, community transport users and local dignitaries attended the event, which began with a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony.
CEO Stephen Fornasier said the move from the organisation's previous home was timely.
"We had 35 people though what was a four bedroom house every day," he said.
"Now, this is the head office for the company, and we have the potential to grow. We can also store all our vehicles in the one place."
The new building was a gift from volunteer Bill Selby and his son, David.
"He mentioned it at the boardroom table and everyone's jaw dropped," said Mr Fornasier.
"It's a significant gift."
