Nine schools including Huskisson, Ulladulla, Nowra East, Falls Creek, Nowra, St Georges Basin, Terara, Tomerong, and Sanctuary Point Public Schools all made films for this year's festival and three more schools have already signed up for next year.
Organiser of the festival and Huskisson Public School principal Glenn Sansom said it was the second area on board with Film by... and now is in its fourth year.
"This is our biggest year and in terms of quality of films, quality of production, this has been the best year yet," Mr Sansom said.
"It's an experience that all students involved will not forget and to see their eyes light up when they see themselves on the big screen... It's just amazing."
Matt Watt, a teacher at Terara Public School, who's school took out best film for their entry The Perfect Record, said the kids got so much out of the experience.

"We embed it into what we do in the classroom so instead of just saying, 'We're making a movie, cancel everything' we look at teaching moviemaking and filmmaking through visual literacy," Mr Watt said.
"So understanding camera angles, understanding storytelling through writing a script, understanding all those film techniques.
"All of the feedback is the children have got so much out of it. They were even able to project the film editing software onto the iPad and edited as a class. They were involved in every step along the way."
Film by... is a public school film festival screened at around 20 locations in schools and cinemas across NSW. It's been in locations from Thirroul to Randwick to Broken Hill.
The Film by... concept started at Miranda Public School in 2010 when the principal saw the excitement a similar project had garnered at his own school.
