A Queensland who pleaded guilty to high range drink driving after having four shots of vodka in an hour-and-a-half has avoided as jail sentence.

Benjamin Craig, 29, from North Brisbane, returned a reading more than three times the limit when he was stopped for a random breath test in Tarawara Street, Bomaderry around 10.26pm on July 6.
He returned a positive test and later a reading of 0.177.
Craig told police he had had four shots of vodka at his sister's Bomaderry home between 8pm and 9.30pm.
In Nowra Local Court on Monday, September 16 Magistrate Susan McGowen placed him on a 12-month community corrections order, meaning he can serve his sentence within the community instead of in jail.
She also disqualified him from driving for six months and ordered he have an interlock device fitted to his vehicle for two years.
