It becomes harder to get out of bed.
Bodies go flabby and things take longer to do.
The eyesight becomes blurry and your memory starts to decline.
It becomes a chore just to get into the car and any long trip takes longer because of all the extra toilet stops, but enough about me.
I would like to talk to you about the Next of Kin Program
The Next of Kin Program helps people living alone to have the contact details of their nominated person recorded at a local police station.
The contact details of the Next of Kin, as well as the nominated doctor, dentist and any medical alerts that would help in an emergency situation will be entered onto a register.
Any information provided will be securely stored and only accessed by NSW Police.
This information may assist the ambulance and police in an emergency situation to contact a relative or other nominated person to inform them of your situation.
We will give you a key ring and a sticker.
Your registered number needs to be placed on these.
You can carry the key ring with you at all times.
The sticker can be placed on your home phone or fridge to alert emergency services that you are registered with the next of kin program.
Contact your local police station and ask to speak with the Crime Prevention Officer about the Next of Kin Program and application process.
The Next of Kin Program is a FREE of charge service.
Remember you can Dob in a Druggie any time you like by contacting Nowra Police or ringing Crime Stoppers. Do not drink and drive. As always, in case of an emergency call 000. In non-emergencies call the Policelink on 131 444 or your local police station. To provide anonymous information call Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
