THE new Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre will host the state's top hoops talent in August next year, after it was recently announced the venue will stage the 2020 Basketball NSW Waratah League finals.

During the recent finals weekend at Terrigal, which saw Shoalhaven product Jaimee Seebohm guide Newcastle to the championship women's title, it was announced the Tigers would host next year's prestigious event.
"It's extremely exciting for the Shoalhaven Basketball Association," said SBA president Maddison Hanlon, who was on hand for the Basketball NSW presentation at the Breakers Indoor Sports Stadium on Sunday.
"We are in the process of transitioning to the new Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre and this is an opportunity to showcase the facility, while also bringing high-level basketball to the region."

The day-two finals event will host the conclusion of seven different statewide competitions, four of which Hanlon is hoping will involve Tiger teams.
"We have already in started planning the Shoalhaven's Waratah League teams for 2020 - with a hope of having men's and women's teams in both division one and the youth league competitions," she saud.
"What an amazing opportunity this is for our teams to work toward - playing finals in the new home of the Tigers."
