Pets who are being cared for by the Shoalhaven Branch of Animal Welfare League NSW have received a welcome boost in the form of $700, to go towards their care and upkeep.
The Werninck Craft Cottage at 102 Plunkett St, Nowra is managed and staffed entirely by Werninck Craft Cottage Club members and volunteers and showcases the handiwork of local crafters.
A percentage of proceeds from each sale is returned to the maker and net profits are donated each year to a local charity, service or project.
The 2019 Werninck Craft Cottage recipient is the Shoalhaven Branch of AWL NSW.
The Shoalhaven Branch of AWL NSW runs desexing programs to assist low income earners with the cost of desexing their animals, a Pets of the Homeless program to assist the local homeless with their animals as well as rescue and rehoming of companion animals in the Shoalhaven.
The Werninck Craft Cottage has been supporting organisations within the local area for more than 30 years.
The cottage is open to the public six days a week and the volunteers can be found selling their beautiful hand crafted items at the Berry Markets and at Jellybean Park on the third Friday of each month.
