Mr Cerezo was the Nowra Town bandmaster from 1995-1997.
The current bandmaster, Ross Saddler, had fond memories of the man affectionately known as "the band gypsy".
"He would spend a couple of years with different bands and then move on," Mr Saddler said.
"He was with Wollongong City brass band, bands in Sydney and out at Parkes.
"After he was bandmaster here, he moved to Wollongong and took on the Miners' Federation Band."
It is understood that Mr Cerezo used to drive buses for Nowra Coaches, and Ms Camileri worked in schools.
The fatal crash - a six-car pile-up on the M1 Princes Motorway at West Wollongong - trapped Mr Cerezo and Ms Camileri's Mitsubishi Pajero between two trucks. They were unable to escape as the car caught fire.
