This month will see the Steel City Strings join forces with the South Coast Big Band as they tour the region playing the biggest blues, jazz, classical and film music hits.
The 35 plus orchestra has specially arranged pieces for an performance in Nowra on Sunday, June 30.
The Steel City Strings, managed by recent OAM medallist, Yve Reppin, are a 20 piece professional string orchestra featuring musicians from the Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands.
The orchestra has been a shining star in the Illawarra music community, bringing the greatest classical works to delighted audience for the past five years.
Celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, the South Coast Big Band has been shaking up the music scene with their big brass sounds, toe-tapping percussions and soaring jazz vocals.
The band was founded by local Des Cannings as a teenager and has since reached new heights with their debut album bring released later this year.
The sweeping repertoire features music epics such as Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, Bob Brookmeyer's Fanfare, West Side Story's Mambo, as well as memorable hits from Joni Mitchell and Ella Fitzgerald.

Ticket prices range from $10 for children under 18yrs to $45 for full adult price. There is a reduced price of $20 per adult for group of five or more.
