Mr Muller appeared on the show 7.30, on the ABC, on Wednesday, May 29, to speak to Leigh Sales about his experience.
He said he felt constantly anxious.
"It was like you had an anaconda crushing your chest, but you'd internalise it and get through," he said.
"I did struggle, and I went and saw a psychologist, which really did help - but it took two or three sessions to convince her I was telling the truth.
"It did become part of my life and quite normal."
Rodger Muller was a business owner and operator in Nowra over the past 10 years, most recently associated with pet food brand "Man's Best", trademarked to Rodger Muller and operating out of a Shoalhaven Heads property.
He said Al Jazeera contacted him to pose as a pro-gun activist and infiltrate the NRA. His work exposed Pauline Hanson appearing to insinuate the 1996 Port Arthur massacre was a government conspiracy, and two senior One Nation officials talking about asking the American gun lobby for $US20 million.
In March, The South Coast Register traveled to the Shoalhaven Heads property identified as the "Man's Best" business address. It appeared to be a two-storey residential dwelling. There was a car parked to the rear of the property, and several signs warning of security systems.
The South Coast Register repeatedly tried to contact Mr Muller for comment, via email, phone and Al Jazeera, but has not received a response.
His former wife, Allison Muller, said Mr Muller was overseas at the time, and not available for comment.
