The Landcare Association embarked on the landscape wide fox control trial in August 2018 to identify the most cost effective way of removing foxes and to establish a template that could be used in other areas.
"In our initial trial area from Berry to Budgong we trialed a number of control measures including trapping, shooting and baiting," Mr Jirgens said.
"To date, the project has had over 300 baits taken, 120 foxes shot and two have been trapped.
"Since the introduction of foxes 160 years ago, they have become Australia's number one introduced predator and have contributed to the extinction of many species of birds and small mammals.
"In addition they have a detrimental impact on domestic livestock such as chickens, lambs and the spread of Neospora caninum in cattle which causes cows to abort."
The field day will be held at 250 BTU Road at Nowra Hill on Saturday, June 15 from 2-4pm.
It will include demonstrations of fox cage trapping, setting up remote sensor cameras, setting up fox control stations and a presentation by Shoalhaven Foreshore Birds Project about their success in protecting vulnerable ground nesting foreshore birds from foxes.
