Tziporah Malkah may have lost a whopping 50 kilograms but Bomaderry trainer Ivan Murray was right there with her.
The former supermodel, then known as Kate Fischer, has spent the last few months training with Ivan and attending health sessions at Little Forest Health Retreat, near Milton.
The 45-year-old actress is now down to less than 70 kilograms, after hitting her peak at almost 120 kilograms.
She's had regular consultations with hypnotherapist Mark Stephens at Little Forest Health Retreat, helping to change her mindset and work on her dietary goals, while Ivan has put her through her paces to shed the kilos.
Ivan, who owns The Gym in Bomaderry, said once he clicked with his client there was no stopping her.
"We get on really well but she's definitely a strong personality and I had to figure out what makes her tick and understand her goals," he said.
Ivan began with a few sessions a week in Bomaderry and by the end was travelling to Little Forest twice a day for sessions that would reach up to two hours a time.
When it comes to Tziporah's like and dislikes, it's comforting to know she's just like any other gym goer.
"Burpees were definitely her least favourite. She did like the rowing machine though so we could work around that and find what worked for her," Ivan said.
While she's left the South Coast for now, Tziporah said she'll miss her "hilarious" trainer and thanked him for guiding her through her weight loss - even when it wasn't easy.
"There has definitely been difficult moments - I mean a woman on a diet is a reptilian," she said.
"But I've had lots of personal trainers since I was 20 and some have been good, some average, some terrible but when you find a real gem like Ivan, I'll do as much as I can with him."
Tziporah said she feels "amazing" and is shocked to find she's enjoying moving again.
A two-hour walk from Milton to Little Forest carrying a five kilogram backpack made her appreciate her huge health change.
"I felt like I was lugging 50 kilograms but it was only five and it's amazing to think I was lugging 10 times that around with me everyday," Tziporah said.
Walks along Mollymook Beach, tackling Mount Bushwalker, and paddle boarding on Narrawallee Inlet also helped Tziporah keep up her fitness outside of the gym.
While she's now returned to her Sydney home, Ivan said he's confident Tziporah will continue her transformation.
"She's now just at the stage where she just needs to do spot reduction and maintain it through strength training and toning," Ivan said.
"She can do it all from home though if she wants. You don't need to go to a gym to do this and you don't have to have four hours a day to maintain it."
For Tziporah, her newfound lease on life means she won't be returning to her unhealthy lifestyle.
She encouraged other women her age to take the step.
"This is how I look in my 40s and I love it. I walk past the bathroom mirror and get a shock that it's me," she said.
"For a lot of women in the 40 to 60 age bracket, they've had kids, haven't taken care of themselves and now their kids are independent it's time to take care of themselves.
"Get together with your mates, join a group, whatever you can afford, and get on top of those health problems before it's too hard."
